Stunning Web Designs That Work!

First impressions matter and good website design is crucial in this modern digital world, where most companies and businesses are promoting themselves online. As we have said great design is crucial but what is even more important is that the website functions and works properly. So many websites look ok but don’t functionally work. Our websites look great and work, we stay on top of current web design trends and developments in our industry to ensure you get the very best results that are current and will stay fresh for some time! The industry is constantly evolving, and we will help you evolve your business.

Functionality Is Key

At the start of the process we will need a clear understanding of where you are and where you want to be and what you want the website to deliver be that, new leads, more orders etc. This allows us to ensure that the functionality of your new website meets or exceeds your requirements. We will guide you through the process and advise on specific functionality that we think is appropriate or essential for your website to be a success. We will also need to understand your technological capabilities, for example there is no need to develop you an all singing all dancing Content Management System (CMS) if you are unlikely or scared to use it, if however your business needs it we can either solve the issue by giving you training until you are at ease with the CMS or we can manage amends and updates for you on , weekly, monthly basis – so there is no need to worry!

Simple Website Navigation

Website navigation is very important, it needs to be clear and simple to use keeping visitors on the site and on the right track. The navigation is a map directing users to different pages and information within the site, so they can easily find what they are looking for and where they need to be! We will work with you to develop a navigation that is a perfect fit for your website goals. We will also make your navigation consistent throughout in order not to confuse visitors this will make the feel at ease using the site.

User Journey, UX (User Experience)

A customer journey is an illustration or diagram of all the places /touchpoints your customers come into contact with either online or offline. Mapping their journey will allow you to identify their needs better. When we are talking about the online journey it will identify the stages that your potential customer will go through when visiting your site. It’s about understanding what makes your customers tick, what they need and what they want as well as what they are worried or concerned about. Having a better knowledge of these journeys allows us to design a more effective structure for your website ensuring your new visitors will take the simplest and most effective route to meet their goals and your own objectives.

Responsive Web Design

A responsive web design ensures that the design responds and resizes itself no matter what device is being used to browse the internet, whether it be on a phone, tablet, desktop, game console, or TV. Responsive designs are essential in this day and age it’s crucial that your site can adapt to any screen size, so we only do responsive designs!

Mobile First

Mobile First Indexing means that Google will use the mobile version of websites and pages for indexing and ranking purposes, it was planned to help their primarily mobile users find what they’re looking for. In late March 2018 Google started to use their Mobile First Index. The use of mobile devices to surf the internet has and is still growing at a particularly speedy pace, however, unfortunately many websites are still not optimised for those mobile devices. This all relates back to having a responsive design, where a different approach is needed to deal with the layout for constrained mobile display. The design of your mobile site is as important as the desktop version, so we always ensure both are aesthetically pleasing and functional. Having a lack of a mobile-friendly pages could impact negatively on your rankings but when your site has a great mobile design this could potentially help you to increase your search rankings, even when searchers are searching from a desktop. You can rest easy knowing that if we are building a new website for you it will be fully responsive and easily found in the Mobile First Index.

Our Web Design Process

We have a very clear process for our Web Design process and it follows these main elements

Research & Reason – Aims and Objectives for the website with clearly defined goals. We will work with you to find out your site needs and its purpose. We will delve into who the site is for and what visitors will expect or need from your site. We will also identify your primary aim for the site be that to inform or to sell this will allow us to identify required calls to action. At this stage we will also look at your brand message and if you have them we will look to use your brand guidelines. We will also investigate who are your competitors and what are their websites like, taking note of what’s good and what’s not. We will also identify user journeys.

Sitemap & Wireframe – Once we have your goals and primary aim for the site clearly set out as well as your target audience and their needs, we can start to plan and scope out the size of the site identifying what pages and features will be needed to meet the goals set. We then plan a sitemap for your site and develop a wireframe which will establish the basic structure and layout of a page before any visual design or content is added.

Content – Once we have your sitemap and wireframes signed off from you we will then go on to develop your content for the individual pages. We will work with you to create compelling new content that has been written with SEO in mind.

Images, Illustrations & Visual Content – Eye catching and appealing images, Illustrations and sometimes video are essential for all sites. But for some clients this is more important than ever to portray the right message about their business, brand or products. We can use some stock imagery, but really, we love to work with client’s bespoke images these make websites come to life and reflect businesses in the most honest and transparent way. If you haven’t got good imagery we can easily arrange this for you.

Testing – When we get to the stage when your content and visual elements have been added, display settings have been defined and all functionality in place we then go on to test the website to make sure it all works correctly. We will look at your site on several different browsers to identify any issues.

Launch – Once we are happy that everything is working perfectly we then meticulously plan your website launch. We will look at timing, communication and when deploying a website, we follow a best practise checklist to ensure it all happens seamlessly and without any complications.

Maintenance – Throughout the process we will have discussed with you the importance of updates and website maintenance. Website maintenance is crucial for longevity and the success of a website. We offer competitive hosting and maintenance packages that will ensure your website is looking and performing at its best at all times.

Our maintenance can cover things like:

  • Backups
